Microsoft shows more profits than Apple

Microsoft vs Apple the ever going rivalry in terms of profit making, capitalizing the market positions etc brings on the news again. This time its on the profit gained in the last quarter and to the news Microsoft has gained more profits when compared to Apple.

Now it is clear that Microsoft's high end software can compete Apple's high end gadgets. Apple comes with highly addictive iphone where as microsoft comes up with its flawless Xbox 360 and Windows 7 etc. For the quarter, Microsoft earned $6.63 billion in profit compared to Apple’s $6 billion.

Google to clash on Apple.

Google all set for strike back Apple on its market. Apple which is a strong player in digital publications is going to face google now. Google going to launch digital news stand of e-publications optimised for its Android-based tablets and smartphones.

Hmmm good move by Google for the year 2011, news is that google is in talks with huge media companies like Time Warner inc. etc. and Company even agreed to take a smaller cut in revenues. Wow sounds like Google really wanna take on the rival now.

Google has already announced Google editions last year which allows its users to view, read or download some their fav magazines,books etc. And when looking to new move by google its not a bad move i guess.

Android creator Andy Rubin mentioned about the company activating 300,000 Android devices per day worldwide, and this number is constantly increasing

As it wanted to optimize this feature for Android based tables and smartphones, it is going to be a big impact for Apple and Amazon. Android has rapid growth in the last year and according to Andy Rubin (creator of Android).he says that the company is activating 300,000 Android devices per day worldwide.

So sometime from now, google can be the largest platforms for consumption of e-books and digital content , i belive..

Apple planning for Google Earth kind of Software?

Apple the tech giant which had huge success with its latest product iPad, is now going to compete the internet giant Google. Yes, Apple is getting ready to launch google earth kind of software.Apple has reportedly acquired Canada-based 3D mapping start-up Poly9 Group which is not yet officially confirmed.

Poly9 also made a browser-based 3D globe like Google Earth, which did not require any download.

I think Apple is beefing up to use its own software for Geo Maps on its phone as currently it is using Google Maps.. Last September, Placebase, a Google Maps competitor, was acquired by Apple.

Well Well Google has a another Tech giant competing in its playground apart from Microsoft is Apple. Lets wait n watch for higher versions of iphone which may use Apple Geo Maps :)

ADAM, the Ipad Killer from India.

Apple's iPad may soon face the rival in the market but this time it faces the competetion from India , sounds strange but true. An Hyderabad based startup Notion ink. is launching its ADAM into the market and soon it gonna give the first flick at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. But first, it was sneaked a preview at Hyderabad’s BVRIT Innovation Centre, where they are based. The big thing it it going to launch directly into the US market initially and start competing the rival APPLE.

Well i was always dreaming about a product based company i mean a potential product which competes the world leaders in the market. I think this is gonna make huge impact on the market now and if does so, india may not be seen as only service providers but also considered as potential players in the IT harware.

Good thing is there are more and more entreprenuers tunring up day to day and specially from Hyderabad and Bangalore there are many startup companies which are looking for a break, and Notion inc succeeds in launching their product that may give lots of spirit to startup accross the nation. And Notion inc was started by young IItians and an MBA graduate.


We knew that Indian engineers and designers were doing most of the innovative work at Microsoft, Intel, and Apple. We just needed to take the first step,” says co-founder Rohan Shravan.

‘‘ Current PC technology is like a Hummer on a city road,’’ quips Rohit Rathi, the youngest of the group at 23, and, along with Shravan, one of four co-founders from IIT Kharagpur. Two are from IIT Delhi while Sachin Ralhan, the eldest at 25, is a childhood friend of Shravan and Rathi and an MBA from IIPM. Apart from Ralhan and Rathi, the other five are all aged 24. What’s so different about their tech? Three years in the making, the Adam tablet is the first device in the world to integrate two breakthrough power saving components — nVidias Tegra 2 chip and a PixelQi screen. Together, they help it achieve twice the battery life and performance of the iPad. The chip provides an edge over the iPad, with its ability to play full high definition videos and Flash on the web browser. ‘‘ It can offer the performance of a computer with the power consumption of a cellphone,’’ explains Shravan.

Adams integrates many innovations first used in the $100 OLPC (one laptop per child) project. Unlike traditional screens, PixelQI screen has a dual mode, and can be read in bright sunlight like an e-reader . With the backlight off, the company claims that it can increase battery life between charges by a factor of five.

NOTION ink didn't do this at an ease but they faced many obstacles specially getting the patent rights and the developers to work on the touch screen interface that runs on Google Andriod mobile operating system and if they need to get the resources who worked on Andriod they need to be higly paid around 1 lakh per month so they come up with a plan of training our engineers.

The company trained and then recruited over 50 engineers at BVRIT in Bachupally, Hyderabad. ‘‘ We got the infrastructure at their Innovation Center, and the students as well. We knew the technology in and out and started training them. Within two months it started paying off, and we started developing the professional applications for the product we wanted to design.’’

‘‘ The company is working on an application store platform of its own, where users can find a wide variety of content. It will offer everything from apps, books, video, audio, to magazines, newspapers and comics,’’ says cofounder Rajat Sahni. ‘‘ We see more and more users reading newspapers on e-readers and tablets in the near future , and has designed a lightweight product that adapts well to this purpose. They showed us a version of how a digital magazine would look on the Adam. We’ve taken design inspiration from a 400-year tradition — the user interface of magazines!’’ chuckles Shravan.

I wish this should be an successful product in the international market which showcase the indian market potential in the IT harware industry and as i said this can build the spirit among the start-ups accross India.

What is iPhone????

iPhone is the term which is mostly used in the gadget industry these days.Well i just wanted to go indepth why iphone was a big thing in this industry and may be it should have been much earlier that i should have given this article but still waited for the updates and usage of this gadget by the people and something which is being used for an year may have lot of feedbacks.So, For the past year and a half the gadget industry is been changed a lot. The Gadgets like iphone has changed the trend. Every individual wanted to have a look at iphone the moment it was announced to release. Well i wanted to have a clear picture like what exactly is iphone . How much it did impact on the market. According to me well it has changed lot of things.


Apple announced the iPhone on January 9, 2007,[19] after months of rumors and speculation.[20] The original iPhone was introduced in the United States on June 29, 2007 before being marketed worldwide. The development of this gadget has begun with Steve jobs and his apple engineers. The speciality is like it has the features of smart phone and multimedia and also touch screen. It has taken the touchscreen functionality to the next level.

The most interesting feature of this is touchscreen ability which was of 9 cm (3.5 in) liquid crystal display (320×480 px at 6.3 px/mm, 160 ppi, HVGA) with scratch-resistant glass,[39] and uses 18-bit colour (can render 262,144 colours).This has used the concept of Capacitive sensing as a human interface device (HID) technology. This phone has got 3 different types of sensors which makes this phone more special. People might think why not the touchscreen gets activated when some one is taking a call and phone comes near to the face logically it has to activate but this phone got some thing called PROXIMITY sensor which deactivates the touchscreen funtionality in these situations.Proximity sensor uses the concept of distance based activation.

An ambient light sensor adjusts the display brightness which in turn saves battery power. A 3-axis accelerometer senses the orientation of the phone and changes the screen accordingly, allowing the user to easily switch between portrait and landscape mode.[45] iPhone of first generation which was updated in jan 2008 has got wifi and Cell tower tracking capabilities. Now Iphone comes in 3G and 3GS with AGPS features.


Now i am going say about one diffect in iphone is the moist sensor which is embedded in the device such that it is easily exposed to the environment. Now the defect is like the sensor can be affected even from the moisture outside and from the sweat of the owner or in other way. The affected sensor says that the device is affected by water and doesn't come under warrenty.



Coming to the software which runs this device is iphone OS which.It is based on a variant of the same Darwin operating system core that is found in Mac OS X. Also included is the "Core Animation" software component from Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard. Together with the PowerVR hardware (and on the iPhone 3GS, OpenGL ES 2.0),[3] it is responsible for the interface's motion graphics.

Interface is the best thing which i like in iPhone. It is so elegant or beautiful to visualise which makes this device look vey high end gadget.For example, zooming in and out of web pages and photos is done by placing two fingers on the screen and spreading them farther apart or bringing them closer together, a gesture known as "pinching". You can access home page even when you are on a call or while listening to music. While in iphone there is not much multitasking.iPhone applications normally run one at a time..Coming to music it is much similar to ipod .

Even though iphone has got many features like internet access, multimedia or simply all the features of a smartphone there are some disadvantages with iphone.
First thing is like the only way to give an input is touchscreen many times you discomfort in using this touch screen specially in an emergency situations you want to type a message very fast , then you might face the problems using touch pad. And you cannot use MP3 files as ringtones and you cant exchange mp3 files using bluetooth.

Apple say Users can create custom ringtones from songs purchased from the iTunes Store for a small additional fee. The ringtones can be 3 to 30 seconds long from any part of a song, can fade in and out, pause from half a second to five seconds when looped, or loop continuously. All customizing can be done in iTunes,[98] or alternatively with Apple's GarageBand software 4.1.1 or later. Man this sounds crazy for me imagine a mobile which costs hardly 3000 Rs has feature of playing any mp3 file as a ringtone why not this high end costly mobile. This might be one of the reason why it is not being penetrated into the crowds of indian market.
And if any third party software you need to buy it from itunes man again this sucks . Coming to usage the device is so delecate that even a small scratch is easily visible makes the mobile look bad. Coming to Camera , now in the indian market harldy around 14000 to 18000 Rs you can get 5MP to 12MP mobiles but with iphone you get only 2MP and 3.5MP. What i say is look n feel matters only for few days but imagine a guy having a phone costing around 10,000 Rs and got a 5MP camera , bluetooth, 3G and Wifi which also access all the social networking sites , you will regret on buying this iphone.

* No removable battery. If the battery is broken, you send the phone to Apple instead of they sending you the battery. So no problem. Its definitely a disadvantage for the people who use a phone lot and rely on the extra battery.
Iphone has also got the problems with the network access. It totally doesnt support enterprise features which it says.

For me iphone is the best gadget i ever come accross in the matter of look n feel or usage of technology in its operations. But on daily usage i wont choose this phone as for each n every thing i need an internet access for accessing itunes, which we are not accustommed to. Somebody who is looking for a gadget which gives a look of very high end mobile they can go for this. Because the coming to multimedia features or smartphone features many other phones have got them.For me iphone is the best gadget i ever come accross in the matter of look n feel or usage of technology in its operations. But on daily usage i wont choose this phone as for each n every thing i need an internet access for accessing itunes, which we are not accustommed to. Somebody who is looking for a gadget which gives a look of very high end mobile they can go for this. Because the coming to multimedia features or smartphone features many other phones have got them. I say this is not for Indian use.

iPod Nano with video camera

Apple is pushing hard its gadgets into the market with its added features. ipod Nano is being release with a camera added to it which makes apple gadgets more unique in the market. The new iPod Nano has an improved screen, and will be available in 8GB and 16GB. Its latest component, the video camera, we think will bring Apple much closer to the likes of portable video camcorders like Flip.

Steve Jobs back at Apple

Apple without Steve jobs this was the talk in the industry and lots of questions been raised "will the Apple be the same without Steve". Well the news is Steve jobs is back.Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave since January, is back at work. Jobs returned back after nearly Five and a half months leave to undergo a lever transplant in Memphis.

On 14 January 2009, Jobs had announced medical leave until the end of June, saying his health issues were "more complex" than originally thought. He handed day-to-day operations to chief operating officer Tim Cook and said he planned to remain involved in major strategic decisions.

Bloomberg quoted Gene Munster, an analyst with Piper Jaffray & Co. in Minneapolis, as saying, "Jobs's return may reassure investors concerned that he was too sick to continue as CEO. It should give investors confidence in Apple's three-to- five-year road map. Having Steve Jobs back means they got the visionary back."

Apple Ipod shuffle can Talk

Apple has introduced an new Ipod shuffle which is half the size of the previous model. They say the best thing is their new ipod shuffle gonna talk . I mean it can say the song title, play list etc.
“Imagine your music player talking to you, telling you your song titles, artists and playlist names,” said Greg Joswiak, vice president, product marketing, iPod and iPhone, Apple. “The amazingly small new iPod Shuffle takes a revolutionary approach to how you listen to your music by talking to you, also making it the first iPod Shuffle with playlists.”

iPod Shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish. It features up to 10 hours of battery life.

In this just by a press of a button you can operate everything on the ipod like song selection to hear the name of the song. May be this innovation take another mile stone towards the technology achievements. By i personally feel spending the extra money from your pocket just to listen the name of the song or playlist is not worthfull. Looking from an technology perspective definitely it is new big step from Apple.

$99 iPhone Arrives, But Not at Walmart

There was a News some days back saying the Iphone will be sold at Wallmart which was said by an Wallmart employee. Everyone were very eager to buy iphone at wallmart listening to that News. But Now check this out, how abt an iphone costing around 99$.

Now AT&T is knocking out refurbished 8GB iPhones at $99 apiece, and 16GB models for $199.

That AT&T is selling refurbs is nothing special -- both AT&T and Apple are veterans of the refurb game and some great bargains can be had. That Walmart's iPhone price is not $99, as some gullible people believed, is equally non-shocking.

But the fact that Walmart, a company known for squeezing every penny out of its suppliers, managed to knock Apple down just $2 is astonishing. We wouldn't be surprised if this discount is actually coming out of Walmart's pocket.
