Barcodes that might have come accross in your daily life many times but have you ever imagined the process behind generating the barcodes. Barcodes are developed based on different standards(upc,code-128,code-39,...).
Now google has developed an application called Zxing which is an Open source , multi-format 1D/2D barcode image procesing lib implemented in java. They say that built in camera of a mobile phone can be used to decode the barcode images sounds cool then check it out Google Zxing
Google Zxing infringes on NeoMedia's patent.
Oh really Informative. But i dont have any idea on NeoMedia what exactly was related to NeoMedia and Zxing.

I am a developer of this library. This anonymous comment was likely published by a person named 'streetstylz', who is an investor in the company, and publishes similar comments across the internet. Search for it.
The claim is utterly false. The subject of the patent in question concerns so-called 'indirect encoding', wherein the barcode contains not content, but an identifer, which is resolved against a remote server of some kind, where the ID has been previously mapped to a URL.
This is obviously not what the library concerns, as anyone can verify. It supports 'direct' encoding, and, among other things, provides no such remote server as named in the patent.
I've tried, unsuccessfully, to reason with him. He knowingly continues to post misinformation. It deserves to be debunked, then ignored, wherever it pops up.
